Threads of Home VR Experience
Step into a world woven from stories, memories, and vibrant cultural heritage.
We’re pleased to present Threads of Home, a 20-minute immersive Virtual Reality (VR) experience created by Newham Libraries in partnership with London College of Fashion (UAL) and The Space.
Developed by London College of Fashion students in collaboration with Newham’s South Asian communities, this powerful VR film explores culture, identity and belonging through a sensory journey of sounds, textures and stories of home.
Viewers are taken through a sequence of memories that draw on family rituals, festive moments and emotional connections, offering a layered portrait of what home can represent across generations.
Featuring narration by Newham writer Sharmila Chauhan and visuals inspired by workshops led by artist Isher Dhiman, Threads of Home celebrates family traditions, shared experiences and the connections that shape our sense of belonging across generations.
