‘Two-Gun Cohen’

1942, two men are in a Japanese Prisoner of War cell in Hong Kong. One is Morris ‘Two-Gun’ Cohen, an East London Jewish born adventurer, con-man, cardsharp and charlatan who had moved to Canada as a very young man and ended up as a General in the Chinese Army. The other is Seymour Major, The Head of Hong Kong Special Branch. Facing a precarious and uncertain future, they pass the time talking about how Morris acquired his legendary nickname and status.

Based on the true story and using much of Morris’ own words, Spencer Simmons, Brian Seaton and Liam J Rand have written this short play to be performed at this year’s Edinburg Fringe Festival.

Conceived and Directed by Spencer Simmons it features Jonathan Meyer as ‘Morris’ and Brian Seaton as ‘Seymour.’

This is the story of a remarkable man who after first visiting China in 1922, was integrally involved with the key figures and events in the development and separation of modern China and Taiwan. It is relevant today.

WP Drama are proud to announce the preview of this new work which will be performed at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August.
