Fading Hollywood action hero Jefferson Steele is lured to England to star as King Lear in Stratford and give his flagging career a much needed boost. What he doesn’t realise is this Stratford is not the home to the Royal Shakespeare Company but to a Suffolk village am dram group. His co-stars are not the cream of English theatre but a bunch of amateurs trying to save their village theatre. Hollywood and sleepy England clash with predictable results.
